On the high plateaus, where the cold shows no mercy, the yak grows a down of exceptional fineness beneath its coat — warmer than sheep's wool, and soft as cashmere. It's this fibre, and this fibre alone, that makes up your beanie.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003eIt is neither dyed nor chemically treated: you wear it just as nature made it, in its original colour. The down is hand-combed by nomadic herders, during the animal's natural shedding season — an ancestral, cruelty-free gesture that respects the animal as much as the tradition.
