The striped sailor shirt, we've known it forever because it has a long history; it was the Tsarist Navy that first adopted this striped garment.

And it was in the 19th century that this striped shirt was included in the official list of clothing worn by sailors and merchants from Brittany, in order to distinguish it from other national navies.

So, as usual, I've taken all the characteristics and adapted them to my universe.
