The Roll-Neck Sweater Bary - The allure of a Royal Air Force classic
My Bary sweater, all in cashmere and merino, has been a hit since the very beginnings of 1971. I imagined it from the famous roll-neck sweaters worn by Royal Air Force pilots.
Originally, it was a coarse-wool sweater with large ribs, cut to keep warmth in icy cockpits. I reworked and softened it by blending cashmere, merino, and viscose for a gentler touch.
I kept its old-fashioned codes: a high roll-neck marked by large ribs, wrapping around your neck, along with cuffs and hem that carry those same bold ribs. A masculine fitted cut, with meticulous finishes.
After several seasons, I can already assure you: it doesn't itch.
