Corduroy, also known as "corduroy fabric," originated in 19th-century England, where it was used to make durable workwear for laborers, gardeners, and hunters. Thanks to its ribbed texture, both tough and insulating, it offered warmth and longevity—two key qualities for harsh outdoor conditions.

In the 1960s and ’70s, corduroy left the English countryside to become a symbol of counterculture, adopted by students, artists, and intellectuals. It took on a more elegant twist in the form of trousers, jackets, and of course—shirts. Corduroy shirts quickly became a staple of the masculine wardrobe, blending workwear roots with a collegiate vibe.

Worn on its own or layered like an overshirt, the corduroy shirt embodies a style that is both rustic and refined—sitting somewhere between working-class heritage and laid-back elegance.

So what could be more natural than reinterpreting my signature western shirt in corduroy?

Still built on the same western-inspired silhouette:
flap chest pockets, curved sleeves, shoulder yokes, and a detailed back construction.
I’ve kept the signature finishes that make all the difference:
1971-branded snap buttons and the removable 1971 pin on the chest pocket.

A bold piece — where western tradition meets winter elegance.
